Bøler Sukkerkokeri
Meet Bøler Sukkerkokeri, or BSK for short, a small confectionery born out of love for nature and a lifelong obsession with sweets. Silje Linder-Finnstad started BSK with a simple mission - to utilise local produce, create mouthwatering sweets, and take us on a trip down memory lane – the times when everything tasted pure and authentic.
It all sprang from an Instagram account Silje started amidst the pandemic. Her sweets, laced with the goodness of hand-picked fruits, berries and edible plants from Oslo’s woodlands, quickly captivated the residents of Bøler – one of Oslo’s most picturesque neighbourhoods. It wasn’t just the taste, but the vision behind these exciting flavours that resonated with the locals.
This synergy between nature and taste attracted Atropical, who sensed a unique potential in BSK and decided to invest. We provided vital financial support, tech expertise, and graphic panache over the years, helping BSK spread its natural and delightful charm.
However, not all journeys are meant to last forever. By 2024, multiple factors led us to one tough decision - to wind up BSK. This decision was driven by the growing complexities and challenges in the marketplace. Just as nature has its harsh winters, so too businesses have their challenging phases. While BSK might have bid farewell to its journey, its legacy as a local confectionery that combined childhood memories and natural flavours continues to linger. Its story stands as a testament to the blend of authenticity, creativity, and the unbeatable spirit of putting a smile on people’s faces with something as simple as a sweet.

Looking past all the years, is now relatively easy to see what could’ve been done differently in many aspects, rights and wrongs. However, it’s not about looking back with regret. The lessons learnt from Bøler Sukkerkokeri will be taken to next ventures. These new ventures will be built on the skeletons of BSK and of the many other companies and ideas that see the light of the day to then suddenly cease to exist. That is nature and the nature of the beast.
We build upon the previous generation, so the next ones are stronger and fit for survival.
Bøler Sukkerkokeri will forever live in Silje‘s recipe book published based on BSK’s famous recipes.
